Benchmark Sport, which incorporates the Sport Industry Group, organises and delivers the Sport Industry Awards, Europe's largest and most prestigious event of its kind. The Awards are now the most visible and sought after endorsement of commercial achievement in UK sport.
David and Victoria Beckham, Thierry Henry, Frank Lampard, Martin Johnson, Amir Khan, Arsene Wenger, Bernie Ecclestone, Lord Coe, Bobby Charlton and Sir David Frost are among the many celebrities who have joined the 1,200 key stakeholders from the sporting industry to celebrate the Awards each year.
Benchmark Sport also runs Square Mile Sport, a series of prestigious sporting events for The City. Launched in December 2006, the Square Mile Sport Awards saw an array of sports stars join 500 guests to salute the sporting heroes of the year, as voted for by The City. The Awards will return again this year in December. Before then in September, the first ever Square Mile Rat Run will see 100 teams of 10 compete in a relay around The City, in a road race unlike any other.
Benchmark Sport's involvement in rugby stems from its exclusive management of an elite family of rugby talent, including Rugby World Cup winners and legends of the game from England, Scotland, Wales, France, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
